Set on an extraordinary 220 feet of private waterfront on Bacchus Island, this fully reimagined estate offers a rare opportunity to own a legacy property in one of the region’s most serene and sought-after settings.

Purchased in 2016 and completely renovated top to toe, the offering was further enhanced with the acquisition of the adjacent lot and the addition of a carriage-style detached garage in 2019, followed by the purchase of the road in front—now creating a private approach at the very end of the island. The home offers over 4,200 sq. ft. of finished living space, with every inch reflecting thoughtful design, exceptional craftsmanship, and uncompromising attention to detail.

Arrive via the quiet causeway, where glimpses of protected marshlands, native wildlife, and tranquil waters immediately set the tone. This unique island setting offers unmatched peace and privacy—no through traffic, just nature at your doorstep—yet remains only six minutes from Smiths Falls, with shopping, dining, and a community hospital close at hand.

The bungalow-loft design is ideally suited for main-floor living, while offering exceptional space and flexibility for a full family lifestyle. Inside, the home is rich with custom finishes, including extensive built-in storage, a statement office featuring a bespoke German antique cabinet, and layered ambient lighting. Elevated cabinetry and quartz surfaces run throughout, while the chef’s kitchen is appointed with premium built-in appliances from Miele and Thermador.

Outdoors, the lifestyle offering is exceptional. Extensive hardscaping includes a walkout waterfront patio, an impressive front driveway, and two additional patios—one featuring a cedar pergola perfectly positioned for sunset views, and another adjoining the detached garage. This remarkable outbuilding accommodates up to five collector vehicles and offers endless versatility as a workshop, studio, entertaining hub, or home-based business. Above, a 1,029 sq. ft. loft presents exciting potential for an in-law suite, office, artist’s retreat, or additional living space, with the possibility of panoramic water views in every direction.

Enjoy boating along 120 miles of the UNESCO World Heritage Rideau Canal system, exceptional bass fishing, and peaceful paddling through protected waterways. Whether as a year-round residence or a four-season retreat, this is a truly one-of-a-kind property—an extraordinary blend of luxury, lifestyle, and location.

A rare offering. An exceptional home. An experience to be felt.

WATERWAY GUIDE

Click the button below to download the app to the Waterway Guide.

If you live on Bacchus Island (located on Big Rideau Lake), you have access to the entire interconnected Rideau Canal System, which offers 126 miles (202 kilometres) of continuous navigable waterway stretching all the way from Ottawa to Kingston.

Because Bacchus Island is situated right in the middle of this historic route, the navigable waters extend outwards in both directions of the Rideau Canal Waterway:

  • Heading North/East: You can travel along the Rideau chain, passing through scenic lakes (like Upper Rideau Lake, Lower Rideau Lake, and the Rideau River) all the way to Ottawa's downtown locks.

  • Heading South/West: You can travel through the lock stations and the Cataraqui River system all the way to Kingston and the shores of Lake Ontario.
